with a health care debate by the students

For the second consecutive year, Villa Walsh Academy’s Junior State of America (JSA) has been designated chapter of the year and was chosen to receive the Professor E.A. Rogers Chapter of the Year Award.  This award, presented at Spring State Convention 2008 the weekend of April 26-27, is named in honor of JSA’s founder Professor Ernest Andrew Rogers, who maintained that one of the primary needs of a democracy is to train its youth in the essentials of good government.  The student-run, non-profit, nonpartisan organization prepares high school students for life-long involvement and responsible leadership in a democratic society.  The chapter will next compete on a national level.
