History

The lovely Morristown countryside and rugged mountain terrain surrounding Villa Walsh Academy provide an atmosphere complementary to the overall learning process. Discovery of truth, beauty, and knowledge within and beyond the classroom have marked the experiences of Villa Walsh students who have frequently walked within its 120 acres of rolling hills and who have explored its natural beauty.

The magnificent estate, with its 19th century administration building and residence of the Religious Teachers Filippini, chapel, academic buildings, auditorium, assembly hall, music rooms, and gym combine the best of old world charm with the most up-to-date facilities and resources. Fully-equipped science laboratories, two computer rooms, resource centers, and audio-visual equipment have brought Villa Walsh Academy into the technological age.

Still, a lasting landmark of timeless beauty remains. The 100-year old six-story tower is easily recognizable for its commanding presence and grace. It rises 70 feet above the 417-foot deep well from which water was pumped by steam engine to supply the estate. The campus situated at the highest point in Morris County boasts a natural beauty and panoramic view.
