Dress Down for SPTS Foundation

Students can dress down in blue for $3 in recognition of September being suicide prevention month. The monies will go to the SPTS Foundation. Students should bring their money in an envelope or attached to a paper that has their name on it. They can bring in the money ahead of time or pay on Monday. They can wear blue jeans, no holes. They must follow proper footwear that is approved. They can wear sneakers.

AP Research Field Trip

The AP Research class will go to Rutgers University. The visit will begin with a session with librarian Dr. Thomas Glynn, Ph.D., M.L.I.S. in one of the computer classrooms. After instruction on the databases, the students will have at least two hours during which they can continue their own AP Research in the university’s databases. Then, they will meet with an Honors College representative, who will give them a brief tour of the Honors College and discuss its programs.

The VWA Basketball program is proud to participate in the Play4Kay initiative, a nationwide effort supporting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and raising awareness for women’s cancer research on Friday, February 20th starting at 3:30. We encourage all families to join us in showing support by wearing pink to the games.

Throughout the evening, we will have bake sale, half-time shooting contest, highlight the importance of the cause, celebrate the strength of those affected, and provide opportunities for anyone who wishes to contribute. A suggested entry fee of $5 for adults and $3 for students will be collected at the door.
