Courtney Barnes is thrilled to join the Villa Walsh Academy community as a mathematics teacher. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in both Mathematics and Studio Art from Bucknell University and a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education from New York University. Throughout her 12 teaching career thus far, she has taught mathematics at the college, high school, and middle school levels and she strongly believes in building meaningful relationships with students while encouraging them to approach challenges with curiosity and confidence. Her background in visual art continues to shape her teaching, inspiring creative, interdisciplinary connections between mathematics and art. She looks forward to serving as a positive role model for young women, getting to know her students, supporting their growth, and sharing the creativity, beauty, and problem-solving power of mathematics. |
