Villa Walsh Academy welcomes students from over 45 communities throughout New Jersey.  The primary means of transportation for our students include municipal bus routes, private bus routes and shuttles from Morristown and Summit Trains stations, and family-arranged transportation and carpools.

Municipal Busing

Students may be eligible for municipally operated busing to VWA if all of the following are true.

  • You live in Morris County
  • You live between 2.5 and 20 miles from Villa Walsh
  • Your local Board of Education participates in providing a route to Villa Walsh

Private Busing through Delbarton School

To support students commuting from outside the municipal busing zone, we work in conjunction with Delbarton School to offer optional contract bus service at a personal cost to families. Private buses run only on Delbarton’s calendar, so there are days in which Villa riders must arrange for their own transportation. The cost per rider for an annual subscription is $7,000 for morning and afternoon busing (no one-way option), except for the Morristown Train Station pick-up, which is $4,000.   Private routes available to Villa girls include the following regional routes and train station shuttles. Click on the route name below for the 2025-26 route details.

Additional Notes about Busing

  • Due to the wide geographical spread of bus routes (even municipal), there are a limited number of bus stops per route.  Families are responsible for  transporting students to and from bus stops if they are not walkable from a student's residence.
  • All buses, both municipal and private, will stop at Villa Walsh Academy in the morning to drop off Villa girls before proceeding to Delbarton School.
  • Students are never penalized if a bus causes them to be tardy to school.
  • In the afternoon, Villa Walsh Academy provides a shuttle bus at 3:50 pm to take all Villa bus riders to Delbarton.  Once at Delbarton, riders board their respective routes home.  Buses depart Delbarton at 4:15pm.
